Sadly, OPD does not have the staff to read these posts (among other things). But we DO still get a CRO for each beat (sometimes 2, if it's split into x + y). It's completely worth cultivating a good rapport with them, they are NOT patrolmen, who respond to calls for service via Dispatch, they are assigned to work directly with residents on issues (like this one) where the community needs City help (depts; agencies; committees, etc.). The NSC (N'hood Service Coordinator, works under OPD, but they are not sworn personnel) is the "matchmaker" that connects issues to appropriate City services, whether it's OPD or otherwise. Your CRO is Ofc. Kito Yslava: kyslava@oaklandnet.com and your NSC is Ana Martinez amartinez@oaklandnet.com - the homeless problem is not something OPD can "arrest away", and (IMO) shouldn't be in their lap, but until City Hall figures that out... I'd not only post here, and wait for issues to grind through SCF to whomever they contact, and then grind through...etc. but I'd _also_ contact Ofc. Yslava and Ms. Martinez and proceed to be the "squeakiest wheel" to get this guy to find another spot to trash... :-o
