Description
Daily, delivery trucks park in both the bicycle and motor vehicle lanes. This picture is from yesterday. Today at about 7:45 am there were 3 trucks lined up. This is extremely dangerous for cyclists and slows down motor vehicle traffic significantly.

Oh man, I've been calling Cambridge Police Department about this on a fairly regular basis for the past 3 years. I've also called Traffic & Parking and asked for more "No Parking Signs" (they responded, "There already is one!"). These requests are clearly being ignored because guess what, the trucks are still parking here.
Can the City please reach out to Draper Labs (it *is* their loading dock after all) and ask them to work with their vendors to avoid this? Or, maybe allow Cambridge Police to write tickets based on pictures/video like the one posted above? Or, just swap the bike lane and right turn lane to make the bike lane not up against the curb.
We cannot allow the City to just be responsive to issues like this, especially when they affect hundreds, if not thousands of road users (seriously, watch how many cyclists ride by here on a nice spring day). The City *must* take the initiative here and prevent this from being an issue in the first place.

I'm going to go ahead and reopen this because as far as I can tell the underlying issue has not yet been resolved. Just because there are no trucks currently parked in the bike lane does not mean this issue is resolved.
What is the City of Cambridge doing to prevent trucks from illegally and dangerously parking in the bicycle lane, specifically in this location? If there is a plan in place to remedy this, how can the public find out about it? If the public has ideas on how to improve this stretch of road how can we provide our comments?

If you see an issue like this in the future, please call Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300 to report so they can dispatch a unit.
In addition, we have reached out Draper Lab to request they work with their vendors to ensure they use appropriate loading and unloading facilities.

Reopening again because there is clearly an issue with the road design if trucks think it's ok to park here. Doubly so since there's a "No Parking <-->" Sign here. This is a deep seated engineering issue that requires some serious effort, not just a "Oh, the truck moved so the issues resolved, hooray!"
Would you rather I open a new ticket for "Chronic trucks blocking bike lane" than keep opening up this one? I can do that too if that'd be better.
Please, again, do not close this until the City has figured out a way to keep trucks from blocking the bike lane (and right turn lane too!). I prefer methods that don't rely on CPD officers being free to issue tickets. I'm happy to keep opening this up because this is a *serious* problem, and will become even worse as it gets warmer out.

Posting here because http://seeclickfix.com/issues/2375048 is closed for comments.
I've reached out to trafficengineering@cambridgema.gov, 3 times, with no response. If this is the preferred course of action can we make sure that they're actually going to respond? I feel kind of stupid sending multiple emails that are going ignored, there's got to be a better way for us to make the streets safer for all.
