Description

THe bike lane that ends in front of St. Joseph's hospital on the south side of the road does so in a dangerous manner. First, it ends suddenly without warning or recourse on the far side of a hill where high-speed motorists have no way of seeing a cyclist is being forced onto the roadway until it's too late. Secondly, there are several manhole cover like panels in the ground with thick lips to them that are almost guaranteed to catch bicycle tires and make people fall as they try to turn suddenly against them. This is a dangerous funnel/trap that will be responsible for cyclists' deaths. I am watching this area carefully and the instant somebody is hurt at that location, I will make it clear to anybody that listens that you knew about it well ahead of time, did nothing about it, and are completely responsible.
