i live directly on RT 378 by the cemetery. The end of our driveway has a drain beneath it for run off. DOT had to come and repair it. I know for a fact that the road is maintained by DOT, not the Village of Menands, or Town of Colonie. I have called them several times and it is not a priority. I have chronic alignment issues with my new car due to the jarring. The noise when trucks fly over the bumps is horrendous, in addition to being hazardous. I have seen cars laterally skip in the air after hitting some of the seams.

Yes, you're right. Route 378 is a NY State route. You can always tell which road is by the shape of the white shield on the number-route sign:
Rounded top-part: State Route (like 378)
3 Points on top: U.S. Route (like Route 9)

I don't understand why this road is constantly ignored! It is truly one of the worst roads in the Capital District! And is has been terrible for years now! Isn't anybody out there from the DOT driving on these crumbling highways so they can see just how bad things are? Route 378 needs a complete upgrade! Not just more patches!!! I'm sick of these bone-crushing streets!!!
