This property is owned by the Victoria Place Homeowners Association. We have asked one of our Housing and Environmental inspectors to stop by to see if the grass exceeds our standards and if so we will contact the Homeowners Association to have them maintain it. The adjacent property is maintained by Wake County Public Schools, but this stretch is not the responsibility of the school district.

Both side of Longview Lake are overgrown with weeds to the point they are growi f into the street. This makes it very unsafe when two cars are moving in opposite directions. This is the worse I have ever seen it.

Grass needs to be. Owed at the corner of longview lake drive and bertie drive. In the past wcps staff mowed. They are telling us that the city of raleigh has this responsibility

They are not correct. The City does not maintain grass in front of privately-owned property, except on thoroughfares and minor thoroughfares. It is possible that WCPSS maintained this in the past, and it is possible that they are no longer able to do this for funding reasons, but the City does not have maintenance responsibility here.

Our inspector has initiated a public nuisance case with a deadline of August 21. The inspector will follow up until the issue is cleared.
