Description
At prime rush hour time of 5pm to 5:30pm, I noticed when headed north on North Point Pkwy through the Old Milton Pkwy intersection, that light to go straight is way short. Maybe 10 cars get through. There are so many companies down North Point Pkwy that let out at 5pm and cars are way backed up at this intersection. So being able to allow a longer straight through green light would alleviate some traffic.

There are a number of issues impacting traffic flow at the subject intersection. Our traffic engineers will inspect the signal to ensure it is operating in accordance with the timing plan for that area.
The City will also soon be introducing a public education and traffic enforcement campaign at this intersection to address drivers blocking the intersection such that when the signal changes cross traffic is unable to proceed. Sometimes referred to as "blocking the box," this behavior is a significant issue at this intersection and greatly reduces the number of vehicles that are able to pass through the intersection on a given light cycle.
