Description

Cars are regularly parked at the red curb both at the NW corner of southbound Washington before 6th Street, as well as northbound Washington before 7th Street. This blocks the view between drivers in the street and pedestrians about to enter the crosswalk, making right turns on red potentially dangerous, and in the northbound direction this makes the dedicated right turn lane basically unusable.

These very well may be police vehicles parked at the red curbs, but even if they are there on official business the parking is prohibited there in order to enhance pedestrian safety so there should be no vehicles there regardless of the reason.

It could be that turning the red curbs into sidewalk bulb-outs is the only way to prevent people from parking there and assuring good sight lines between the sidewalk and the street.
