Description
Another accident in front of our office. A motorcyclist crashed and hurt himself on the spiked railroad tracks. His motorcycle was towed away and he is going to emergency to be checked. Today was a record day, there were also 3 cars with flat tires from these same tracks. When is this going to be fixed? So far nothing serious has happened, but one day . . .

Ridiculous!! This is a public safety issue on a city of Oakland street. The railroad has not been active in this neighborhood for over 40 years! Gets this fixed before someone dies tragically and needlessly.
I have already contacted the media, KRON 4, Eastbay Express and the Tribune and Mayor Schaff's And council President McElhamey's office!! This is an OPW issue!!!

Someone is going to get killed on that road and then it will be too late. I hope that does not happen.
I am not an oakland resident, I was just visiting.
I hope that you locals will call the news and have someone do a local piece on the conditions of this street. It is a deplorable condition and would take some asphalt and a steam roller to remedy the problem. Sure, maybe they cant take the tracks out but at least take out the exposed lumber and spikes and fill the gaping holes!!! It is an industrial area but the nearby residents use that area of wood street to get to the shopping center.
