Hyla Middle School hopes that the above described issues will be noted and addressed with the planned work along the north side of the road to bury power lines takes place this summer. The project makes for an excellent opportunity to provide a wider shoulder along which pedestrians and cyclists can travel. The school also supports the suggested modification of the speed limit to 25 mph during non school-zone hours. FYI the flashing signals have been programmed for specific hours and days in the effort to minimize the amount of time that the limit is set at 20 MPH. --Thomas Weber, Head, Hyla Middle School.
