Description

Over the past several years, there has been a block-long channel-like sinkhole developing along the slope of Mira Vista Avenue. If one stands at the intersection of Valle Vista and Mira Vista and looks up Mira Vista, this is readily apparent. This could be due to an underground creek or damage to a water pipe, so we cannot tell if it is an EBMUD or City of Oakland issue.

The street surface looks close to failing due to subsidence. We have heavy trucks using this street daily. Besides the commercial delivery vehicles, a neighbor who works for PG&E usually parks a large cherry-picker truck along this stretch.
