Neighbors have begged the City to do something about making the owner maintain the grass at this church, the vacant lot , the vacant house and around a vacant building all belonging to one man. As of today two of the neighbors, over 65, picked up the trash and paid someone out of our own money to cut the grass on the vacant lot that had not been cut in a year . My family has lived in Hillcrest Heights for 70 yrs and are totally disgusted with people who have bought homes and let the people they rent to destroy the property with no consequences,
Mary, it is totally disgusting to go by there. I just read where Matheson Dr. was trashed from celebrating July 4th.I spent 13 years of my life in that neighborhood and we NEVER had such degrading filth going on. It breaks my heart to see Hillcrest Methodist Church. Whoever owns that property is totally irresponsible and so are Macon's city officials who ignore the eyesore.
what a shame . I grew up in this neighborhood, very proud and proper and the city needs to address problems with land owners and people residing in the area.. Can nothing be done?Property taxes are paid on the homes I assume / abusers of property left without care should be taxed for the clean up.. Wake Up Macon !
Hopefully Inspector Robertson's
assignment and the site visit will help make the city more aware of properties that really need attention. This area was established so long ago and can be beautiful once again, with just a little help from our friends within the county, city that can make a difference. Pride in ownership is so important .
This is picture of how the property could look like if someone would get in there and clean it up. We have even helped some to get grass cut. We even have several people willing to keep grass cut but as long as city does not hold owner accountable for maintaining this property, he will continue to let it go. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
