We have checked the machines, and it appears that they are functioning correctly and accepting credit cards. Could you expand on what you mean by "new" credit cards? Thank you!
I mean the ones with the chips, but since my card works fine everywhere else... The machines in that Inman Square lot have always been temperamental. They're slow and have never, in my experience, taken a card on the first try. That day, I couldn't use that new card at all. Haven't been back since.
Thank you for the clarification! We have not been investing in chip-based pay machines, since chip cards do still have the magnetic stripe in most cases. If this is not true for you, or if a machine does not recognize your card, please feel free to call the Department at 617-349-4700. Also, we are in the process of investigating upgrades to our system to improve the functioning of those (and other) pay machines.
We are closing this issue as there does not seem to have been additional problems since July. If there are any further issues, please don't hesitate to let us know!
