What can be done to upgrade the sidewalks on Wooley east of Harbor going over the canal? The sidewalks are in terrible shape and a big hazard! There are 2 blue containers that infringe on the sidewalk. I don't know how anyone in a wheelchair or with a large stroller could get around these. The asphalt sidewalk is broken, cracked, & a major hazard even to those walking. The street is too narrow to ride your bike there so you have to ride on this dangerous sidewalk. It is so narrow you can barely pass someone. I am VERY concerned someone is going to trip or fall into the street and get hit by a car.
It looks like they are starting to grade for the elementary school before Seabridge. If I was a parent, I would be VERY concerned for the safety of my child getting to school via this route. It would be great if they could add a lane on the bridge over the water to accommodate bikes & wheelchairs. I do realize it is a big expense but the loss of life or a lawsuit is waiting to happen. Thank You! P.S. I have sent a copy of this to our mayor and to the Superintendent of Ox Elem. School.

Many people turn onto this road from Harbor Blvd and accelerate to the speed limit of 45 mph or more. Since the road is so narrow in addition to a narrow bridge, most bicyclists choose to bike this one little section. Someone is going to hit a pot hole either walking or riding their bike and fall into the street. With a 45 mph speed limit, they are going to get hit by a car or truck. Please remember, families use this sidewalk to get to and from the beach to the market. There is not a sidewalk on the other side of the street. So, people going in both directions have to share this narrow sidewalk that is in major disrepair.
Thank you!
