Description
There are a number of new No Parking signs in the 2000 block of E Cary St. between 20th and 21st street. Cars are continually parked there, without citations, so this is confusing. Are there time restrictions associated with these new regulations? Are they not enforced during the day? Please clarify during what times we are permitted to park on this block so that citations can be avoided.

I am one of the vehicles parked in the photo posted above and would like to echo the concerns of Jane Doe. The parking signs clearly allow parking within the spaces noted. Given that the city has a multitude of no parking signs available to clearly mark no parking zones, I find it ridiculous that this happens with such frequency.
A sign marked <--No parking means parking is allowed to the right of the sign. The reverse No parking--> allows parking to the left of the sign. There is absolutely no reason a reasonable person should receive a ticket for parking as shown. No reasonable parking attendant should issue tickets based on this setup.
This is the current example, but the difficulty with which one has to contest parking tickets (often blatant ticketing "errors" such as this) is also ridiculous. The process is made time consuming so as to make it not worth fighting the ticket (which again is probably intended to be so). I recognize the City needs to enforce certain parking regulations as a matter of public safety (and also as a revenue stream), but ticketing residents based on poor signage is unprofessional and should not occur as frequently as it does.

As a followup--today I parked elsewhere and a second ticket was given to one of the cars photographed above and a second vehicle also within the parking area also received a citation. I am also frustrated that I placed a note on one vehicle encouraging the owner to fight the unjust ticket but this note was replaced by the parking attendant with a second violation.
What makes this even more frustrating is that this topic has been "acknowledged" by the City on June 19, but apparently no remedies were made as on July 1 and 2 (as well as days previous to that I'm sure); parking citations are still being issued.
Citizens should not be punished for following the parking laws with the undue burden of defending their actions when they are given ILLEGAL parking citations. It also appears that I need to complain to the City's parking contractor. Based on my experience parking services needs to allocate additional time to both training and vision tests for its employees. There should be a system in place to verify that the areas listed as not allowing parking clearly reflect that (if this was the City's intent) instead of issuing citations in clear violation of the signage displayed.
