Recently while talking to a friend who is associated with Hockanum Valley Community Council, Inc. (HVCC) in Vernon I heard that they were in dire need of donations for their local food pantry that serves multiple families in the Tolland area. This person explained that the pantry now serves over 300 families a week on a regular basis and even more emergencies are coming in daily.

We all hear the statistics of how many children go to bed hungry each night. These include kids right in our own backyards and neighborhoods. Please get involved and support HVCC in their continued efforts to serve the local communities.

On Saturday April 14th and Sunday April 15th food drives will be held at Stop and Shops locations in Vernon, Rockville and Ellington. Your donation can make a big difference right here close to home.

During this season of Passover and Easter let us take a moment and share our own blessings to touch the lives of our friends and neighbors who may not be as fortunate at this point in their own.
