Wow are they camped out in front of someone's house? This is the same spot as before, plus a known street for these encampments. If this was cleaned up why were they allowed to return? A sidewalk is not a campground.
Actually I think it is a construction yard... sells/sold plaster and sheetrock supplies if my memory is correct. Regardless, I wish we could get OPD to do something about these homeless squatters. Remove them...
This all industrial down there. But there is a big empty lot just down the street bordering Peralta st. Just let them hang out there. The city could thrown in a few porta pottys give social services and the advocates a couple of portable offices and they can all live happily ever after and off the streets and sidewalks ect.
The problem with "letting them hang out" in the vacant lots around there is our legal system and their advocates. I imagine that the owners of said property would be worried about getting rid of the squatters when they finally come up with a use for it. Now if the City could step in an guarantee that they would get rid of the squatters without ramification to the owners it might be workable...
No David Coleman!! Do not let them stay in that lot, they and their drugs and garbage and waste all need to go now! It is unsafe for the many children living in this neighborhood, many on Ettie, 32nd, and Hannah! How bout that 'protect and serve' slogan OPD?!?!?! Can we have some of that please???
Just a note here that that empty lot is not vacant...it is the property where City Slickers is going to install the next farm and construction will begin soon (the playground goes in in August)...squatters, debris, filth and crime on that property will delay the construction and hurt this non profit organization
Seeing that nothing has really changed maybe it's time for a call or 10!

A never ending story. Sounds like someone is helping the homeless by not removing them. The city leaders need to invite the homeless to live by them, so the rest of us don't have to look at the city dump every day.
