Description
Areas within 1500 ft. of NOCCS and Santa Fe schools, as well as Oakland Military Academy and Anna Yates (Emeryville) desperately need "DRUG FREE / GUN FREE ZONE" signs to help deter criminal activity by demonstrating that related crimes in these areas are Federal Offenses with Federal enforcement. I am willing to provide funding for these signs - strategic locations of these signs could make dramatic impact on neighborhood improvement. Please help. Please respond and build the dialogue that will help make our children safer throughout the year!!

Let's get those signs posted. I've lived on this block for 12 years. I used to walk in the neighborhood and feel fairly safe, but not anymore. In the last year or two, we've had:
---3 or 4 muggings in front of the B2 Lofts (2 were in broad daylight with firearms).
---An elderly man who was partially paralyzed from a stroke, was walking up the street, when he was jumped and beaten by two men.
---Numerous burglaries, car thefts, car break-ins and at least 30+ tires slashed.
I fully support the posting of those signs.
