Pole Branch Rd is full of pot holes. We called the county and they told us to call the State. Called to complain but still nothing has been done. One pot hole covers all but a foot to the center line going South past the store. It is huge!!!!! Bad pot holes both directions. Need Fixing Fast.
Beginning at this location on Pole Branch Rd (279) in SC and traveling to the end and then continuing on 274 south to hwy 49, is a crater filled stretch of road which is both dangerous and damaging to the vehicles which travel it. Here's a brief history of my approach thus far to solve the problem:
1. Jan 2010 - Sent email to SCDOT to alert them of problem. SCDOT sent pot hole patching unit to provide temporary fix. No funding to make permanent repairs.
2. May 2010 - Sent another email to SCDOT. SCDOT sent pot hole patching unit to provide temporary fix. Still no funding update
3. Jan 2011 - Sent another email to SCDOT. SCDOT sent pot hole patching unit for 3rd time. Still no plans for long term repairs.
4. Mar 3 2011 - Sent another email to SCDOT - awaiting response (but you can guess what it will be).
This road is terrible. Even someone (like myself) which travels the road everyday and knows where the pot holes exist can't even avoid these mine fields without running off the road and hitting new one's which appear everyday. The repairs which the SCDOT make on the suspension busting pot holes are only temporary and quickly erode with heavy rain and traffic! What is amazing is that the NC side, once you cross the bridge, is in perfect shape - why can't SC figure it out? I am disappointed that even in a year where budgets are tight, the SCDOT can't find a way to make proper repairs to this treacherous section of swiss cheese asphalt.
