Description

My family was recently removed from this address (ours was specifically the upstairs apartment at 52 1/2 Wall St unit 3) after 6 weeks. Our brief 1st floor neighbor experienced rain inside his hom and housing inspectors came by to see the issue and found a plethorae. The property was purchased late last year despite it being condemned by Worcester in 2002; the condemned status was confirmed, for solid reasons, the evening of the inspectors afternoon visit, but because the new owners can't make the repairs needed, we were evicte immediately d

I didn't realize I could ask this here! I'd like a confirmation of yeah or nay. A lead test was done sometime in the "last few months" but I have a feeling that the attic space, which is right off the living room and locked, but holds the breaker box for unit 3, was not tested. Frankly, the space looks like someone took a rage sledgehammer to it 50 or 60 years ago and left when they felt better. Windows and lighting were replaced, recenly.t
Our son is 5and wee were alread warye with thatspace and kept it closed with furniture in front of the broken door. Uunfortunately, we were very hard up to find a new home when we left our previous apt due to finance and felt lucky to be invited in as residentss.Anyway, wee found out tha room is where thebreakere box was when we needed to utilize it upon tripping a circuit early in our residene. The"de-leaded" section of our lease was signed by my wife and I but that was prior to our knowledge of the breaker box location and when I inquired about the test including that area, I received no response

also asked...
Q. What was the response?
A. None
Q. Describe the conditions.
A. Walls partially broken, 100 year old wallpaper partially peeled, some may have been burned? Layers of dust, sawdust, plaster dust, etc etc, floors partially finished; broken stairway that we did not adventure up, though inspectors may have and I was told this room was the route to the roof by a workman who had utilized it, previously
Q. Is there a child under 6 who resides at the property?
A. Yes, our son who is 5
Q. Would you like to have a determination of lead inspection (there must be a child under the age of 6 residing at the property to qualify for this inspection)?
A. Yes, please
Q. How long have these conditions existed?
A. Looks like a long long time
Q. Have you reported these conditions to the landlord?
A. If he somehow wasn't aware prior, he definitely found out during the housing inspection visit
