Hammond Police Department assigned this issue to HMD Code Enforcement

This is the second complaint of this area in reference to the same thing. The first complaint was just assigned to Lt. Mickey to check for reciprocity and registration violations. This complaint is being referred to Code Enforcement to check for business violations.

He has added more vehicles. The vehicles are now down Cedar Ave. Still with Indiana/Illinois plates that have been expired since 2021. The landlord is aware and he has not done anything. Each day is a new vehicle with different plates that don't match the vehicle description. As soon as he sells one another one is added. He is on Facebook marketplace.

Investigating

834 Gostlin is the renters address he has for now moved the ones with stickers, and took pictures of the others for his marketplace. The Saturn SUV and the Explorer are also his that have Illinois plates he doesn't drive them so they don't get moved and are parked halfway down the block not by his house. This has been on going since the starting renting the house at 834 Gostlin. We as the neighbors of Cedar appreciate everything u guys have and will have done.

We can not determine who is selling what. If you have screenshots from Facebook marketplace or any other items showing who is selling what, please email them to castror@gohammond.com. Without evidence, I can not take any action for sales. PD will continue to watch the streets for vehicles in violation.
