When last checked, the volume of pedestrians crossing Middle Street at Union did not meet the minimum thresholds for the marking of a crosswalk. There is a marked crosswalk with flashing lights at Madison Street, 200 feet from Union Street. Crosswalks are not usually installed within 300 feet of another crosswalk.
City staff will monitor the Union Street intersection to determine whether conditions have changed that would warrant the installation of a marked crosswalk at that location.
