The pedestrian crossing button/walk sign does not work when trying to cross northbound Wilmot Rd. Starting from Park Place drive on foot, and although it took a long time for the walk sign to activate, I was able to cross southbound traffic into the median waiting area. After pushing the pedestrian crossing button multiple times and waiting several minutes, the walk sign would never activate to cross northbound traffic. I was forced to run across Wilmot Rd while looking for a break in traffic. This pedestrian crossing has very old hardware and could also use updating to themuch better modern bike/pedestrian crossings that are around Tucson. At this point, there is no safe and reliable way to cross busy Wilmot Rd in between Broadway Rd and 22nd street. A updated pedestrian/bike crossing would be a great improvement to the community. n
