Thank you for reporting this issue to the City of Sterling Heights. We have routed your issue to the appropriate department and it will be assigned accordingly. Please stay tuned for updates.
And today the same individual is burning up all his freshly cut down arbor vitae bushes. Pretty sure this is not considered "seasoned firewood". Does he have a permit for this burn pit?
If the city could assist with enforcing burn/fire regulations with this individual for the health and safety of the neighborhood, that would be much appreciated.
Fire Prevention has attempted to contact the homeowner but there has been nobody at the home when we stopped. Your best course of action would be to call the non-emergency number at dispatch (586) 469-5502 and report a possible unauthorized open burn complaint. The dispatcher will send a Fire Engine and hopefully catch them in the act.
Just confirming you contacted the non-emergency number at dispatch (586) 469-5502 as opposed to reporting only through SeeClickFix which is not monitored all the time?
Correct. Non emergency. Fire dept was out already and made him put it out at least. I heard more than one person has called over the last month, so hopefully they'll be keeping track. Thank you!
Closing ticket for now as it has been addressed. If this issues remains in the future, please continue to contact fire non-emergency dispatch. Thank you!
