Agree. We made this request in 2023 and were previously told by the city that ADA improvements would only be made as streets are scheduled for resurfacing. We were directed to the street resurfacing plan and Twelve Stones streets were not planned for any resurfacing at the time.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. The city of Huntsville as required by law has implemented an ADA transition plan to address these issues city wide. This plan focuses on ADA improvements being made hand in hand with our resurfacing program. This ensures that we have a plan moving forward to bring all city streets to ADA standards. Resident requests, while appreciated, do not alone guarantee that a roadway will necessarily be scheduled for repaving. For more information on resurfacing, please read this blog on the City’s website: https://cityblog.huntsvilleal.gov/when-will-my-road-get-resurfaced/ . Until that time, all new sidewalk and ADA requests go to our Planning department. They can be reached at (256)427-5111 if you would like to follow up. If you have additional questions, please call Huntsville Public Works at 256-883-3944. Thank you, Your Huntsville Connect Customer Service Team
