I was crossing the crosswalk across Somerville Ave at Mossland Ave this morning around 10:15 when a Cambridge Recycling truck (license M9794) blew a redlight during a pedestrian signal, while I was crossing.
This was clearly not an accident - there were other people crossing, other cars stopped, and it’s not a new traffic pattern. No one should blow a red light but government vehicles should set the example. And let’s not forget that a young women was run over by a recycling truck a few years ago - they can easily end in fatal accidents.
