The contractor is working at a fast pace with the goal of finishing work prior to December 20th. No night work will take place between Christmas and New Years. Approximately two weeks of night work is anticipated to occur in January 2024, which will conclude the majority of the night time construction by this developer/contractor on NE 175th Street.
The work along NE 175th Street was permitted as night time work to limit traffic impacts that would be caused if work was allowed during the day, namely closing large portions of NE 175th Street and rerouting traffic through downtown grid streets, resulting in tremendous vehicle backups and congestion impacting intersections, driveways, and pedestrian crossings along City's streets, significantly impacting businesses, residents and commuters.
The City will continue to monitor and coordinate with the developer/contractor for the duration of the project.
