Thank you for posting this important concern. This stretch of city road is actually being planned for complete reconstruction this summer with new concrete pavement and new curb and gutter (the road is currently open ditch). A public informational meeting on design options for this project is being held for affected property owners on Wednesday, February 8, at 6:00 PM, in the Civic Center council chambers, 6000 Middlebelt Road. Hope to see you at this important meeting! I will keep this issue open until the work is completed.
A public informational meeting on the final design of the Harrison Avenue reconstruction project has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 6:00 PM at the Garden City Police Department multipurpose room located on the first floor, 6000 Middlebelt Road. Please plan to attend and provide your comments, suggestions, and insights regarding this important project!
You are absolutely correct in your comment that I closed this issue prematurely and I apologize. I'm not sure why this would be closed, the road is still very bad. The project has NOT been approved nor has funding been allocated for it.
Just to say temporary fixes have been made and close the issue does not make this a very useful tool for the public
