Main arterial streets take president over residential areas. As per the city's Snow removal policies. Your only obligations are to make sure your vehicle is off the street when the DO schedule clearing.
AND DO NOT SHOVEL YOUR SNOW INTO THE STREET. It's a Bylaw violation.
I was thrilled to see the snow removal crew on my street today, and I must say they did a fabulous job. I can honestly say that in the 16yrs I have lived in my neighborhood, it is the first time they REMOVED the snow instead of pushing it to the side of the road as they have done in the past (then had to come back in the spring and remove it for fear of flooding). They used the dump trucks and "snow blower" machine for this process - very efficient!!

too bad the city didn't have another "SnowBlower" to move the snow into the trucks.
it works well if the driver quits using it as a dozer, and just blows the snow.
perhaps not as fast as a WheelLoader, but better for traffic
