Description

I would like to see if there’s anything we can do to prevent the level of speeding that takes place through our street. I would estimate that 70%+ of the houses between the entrance to Saint Mary and the houses at the top of the hill have school, aged children (or younger) living here. The cars that come from the units at the top of the hill often forget that this is not just a pass-through street but that there are families who live at every house along the way, and they speed at frightening levels (and certainly far above the speed limit.). Is there anything that can be done such as putting a speedometer to show people how much they are speeding, adding a couple speed limit signs throughout the street, or even better, a speed bump or two on our street? A number of us are nervous to let our kids ride a bike or even cross the street without an adult which is very unfortunate for a family-oriented neighborhood in Needham. If it is a matter of getting more support from my neighbors, please let me know, and I am happy to obtain that.
