In the old days, Green means go. Traffic would flow in both directions, Now half of the road goes green and the other is red. This makes turning left very confusing at these lights. I bet you that there has been more accidents in the last 6 months at the corner of 19 and Garfield and Canal and Garfield, then in the last 10 years. Just ask the customers at Wildflower Cafe.

I couldn't agree more. With gas prices as high as they are, I really don't want to spend 30 minutes in my car to go somewhere that is 5 minutes from my house. The lights have gotten worse every year. Your sitting at a light, it turns green, you start moving, and get stopped at the next one. I've heard it said that lights are timed this way to slow down speeders. How can anyone really be speeding when at almost any given moment I'm on the road, the cars in front of me are doing 5-10 mph BELOW the speed limit? Rediculous!

Yes, it is very confusing that the left turn lanes are blinking red, you pull up and then if you haven't had the chance to turn, the light turns solid red instead of a green arrow. I actually called on this. The lady told me that the light will not turn to a green arrow if a car is pulled passed the stop bar because it doesn't recognize that someone is waiting to turn. So be sure not to pull up on the blinking red. Stay behind the stop bar and you should get a green arrow.
