Q. Request/Concern Description
A. Going down Mountain Avenue at the end towards Mount Vernon St. (And many many streets around), there is currently no space for two cars to pass at a time when anyone is parked on the side. I know that there is a law in place with winter parking regulations that if you own a driveway, you must park in it. Has this area been examined in this regard? It is a highly traveled Street as people are both commuting along it and navigating near the busy preschool, the early learning center, not to mention schoolbuses. I feel certain that almost every car parked on the side at 7:30 a.m. (There overnight as seen by snow) on a weekday is a resident as when coming through the street again around 9 AM, it is almost empty. Enforcement of the winter parking regulations would greatly ease massive traffic congestion on this road while we have huge snowbanks. I know that the town is working on creating more residential parking permits, but especially when our roads are barely passable, it would be an incredible benefit to moving vehicles for the parking ruled to be enforced. If you own a driveway, please park in it. This could be a huge source of revenue to ticket and enforce this existing law, or why in the world have it on the books to begin with?
