My idea about Dorothy Nolan School is the town and school district should get together, put in some sidewalks on Jones and Carr, and hire some crossing guards so more kids can WALK. We hear all these reports in the media about obese children. If more could walk to and from school instead of being driven around, they'd get into the habit of exericising every day. And this habit can last a lifetime.

Not every little "brat" as you called them can take the bus because their parents have jobs to get to and have to work around before/after school care and snow delays. I am saddened that you consider children "brats" and feel sorry for any potential children or grown children you may have. Think before you speak and don't be so ignorant. I agree DN has traffic issues but that is not how you handle it.

The school can fix this by allowing a double line of cars at the rider loop. Have two rows que up and have a staff member at the front control the departure. When each pair of side by side vehicles is loaded then they are released together to avoid the little ones crossing through moving cars. When the entire line is gone then a new set pulls in to load. A little driver patience and discipline would go a long way there.

I would love seeing this changed too! Attacking the police the way you did, Anonymous, is just awful. Hope you never need an officer to help you! You just started a bad karma cycle around yourself.
I can not imagine every one of those cars has to be there, on account of a working parent. Do these parents realize they are paying over and over for their children to get to school.. 1. there has to be a seat on a bus for each child in the school.. if they are filled or not. Tax money pays for that. Then the same parent spends money on gas to get the child to school. DN parent

The cop in the parking lot was a School resource officer inside the school. They're gone now. Remember the donut joke next time you dial 911 and need their help....

Boy, we never had a problem with that when I went to school there. The way it was setup before worked just fine. Now that everybody and there brother moved to wilton and its population is overgrowing, They tried to make the system work better, but made an created a mess in doing so. Back in my day, we took the bus, and we walked halfway down the street. My best friends mom had to go to work early in the morning, so he and his brother got dropped off at my house at 6:30 every morning so they could catch the bus at my house. They also got dropped off at my house at the end of the day. Those were the days before you needed a stupid note to get off at your friends house. But back then we were RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH to call our parents before we did that kind of stuff just to make sure they knew where we were. Its so sad to see that we still had responsibility back in the 90's. That and back then Wilton was still the country and everybody knew everybody.

More homes, more condos, more apartments = more kids, more cars, more congestion

Infrastructure to support all of this has not changed

This guy is going to solve the worlds problems wow. Just stop if that's what your take is on this please haha. Nothing can be done its just parents picking up their kids and as someone who walked to Dorothy Nolan from Loriann Dr the sidewalk is horrible. It is still in bad condition like most other sidewalks to be fair but for an elementary school I'm surprised they haven't fixed it yet. The upkeep is not their either, my friends and I would walk through feet of snow that the school didn't clear from the plow pushing it up on the side. So now its a 5th grader walking through 5 feet of snow while most likely late. Before we say build sidewalks so "brat" kids can walk to school is only going to have your "brat" but complaining about something else while having the vocabulary of a jersey shore cast member. Have a good one buddy.
