Rec maintenance has worked on the more heavily trafficked areas to clear them. More sun & warmer temps are needed to melt the ice in other areas. Machinery does not perform well in removing ice once it is compacted. We will continue to check the area regularly.
At least over the last month, it has been common that the northern (east-west) path has been cleared of snow, yet the exit to 206 hasn't. Similarly, the western (north-south, parallel 206) path is sometimes cleared of snow, sometimes not.
As you say, if they were always cleared of snow, the ice problem would be pretty minor. The same applies to the pettoranello park issues.
As time and resources allow, we will continue to monitor those areas keeping in mind that we are expecting snow today and again on Thursday. Unfortunately, the areas in question are shaded and do not receive as much sunlight as other areas of the path.
