Description
Traffic accident at intersection. About once a week - give or take- there is a major accident at this intersection. Is it possible to have traffic engineers look at the design and traffic light sequence and timing? Based on comments on social media about this accident, it seems appropriate for Police Department to do speed limit enforcement on NE 155th.

Response from our Traffic Department:
Thanks for writing in to let us know about the collision at this intersection. Staff will review signal timing and phasing as suggested. Please note that the only way staff is able to evaluate and appropriately mitigate for collisions is when police reports are filed providing the context for the collision. The reported collision data for this intersection shows a downward trend (see diagram below), and no more than 4 collisions in any one year, with a typical 3-year average falling at less than 3 per year for the last several analysis cycles. There has been one collision reported so far in 2023, but this would not count the most recent collision documented in your photo.

Once the Light Rail Station opens, would be nice to have a better functioning intersection.
