Thank you for your concern. We understand that this could be very scary and worrying for the safety for your canine. First and foremost, we would like to state that you do have the right to defend yourself and your property (your dog). Hawks will fall under native wildlife and we have no jurisdiction over them. We can intervene if the hawks were sick or injured. Unfortunately at this time, we will have to refer you to the Alabama Dept. of Conservation at (256) 353-2634.
