I agree, a blight upon the neighborhood. I assumed 2 years ago when I moved to that street that it was construction that would be finished instead of never-ending.

Call Code Enforcement at 238-3381. They're helpful, but the process takes time. Take notes, know who you talk to, get the name of the inspector to be sent out, etc. Follow up according to the timeline they describe. Keep on it. Get the neighbors involved.

Backyard is filled with car parts. There is an illegal structure made with old wood, tarp and broken ladders which is wired to the main house with extension cords. It is lit continuously at night. A bad smell is coming from the backyard. There are more extension cords traveling from the main house to the telephone pole in the back left corner. Piles and piles of junk and what could be hazardous materials. Decaying roofing materials (shingles, wood, tarps) stacked on the roof.

This address is still a problem.

Somebody actually has to call Code Enforcement. The "referral" from Public works doesn't do anything. Call 510. 238-3381.

The City of Oakland Call Center has received this issue. It is registered as service request #708596. Please check back for status updates, or contact us directly at 510-615-5566.

Also parking enforcement 238-3099 illegally parked trucks and contact the PWD call center to send OFD to check the place out for the hazardous materials.
