  The tree of concern indicated by the resident is between the T-turnaround at the end of Sandy Stream and the white fence indicating the end of the road-right-of-way.

  On Aug. 9th a crew cut down 5 at risk trees in the wood area beyond the swale and white wooden fence. Thank you for a well done job performed in a timely manor. There is a rather large tree with dead branches right next to and on the swale side of the fence that was referred to MD SHA by Sean since it is on their property maintained by the state (right of way?). They have never responded. Please advise me on how I can get some movement here. Is there a person or office I should contact? The website is more focused on potholes than trees.
  Sean - you had a map that showed which property at the end of the street and in the woods came under Howard Co., MD SHA, and homeowners. How can I get a copy? Thanks.

  On your advice, I called the Howard Co. Roadway Maintenance Division (410-313-7450) on Sept. 13th to report the condition of the tree and swale and request action. I called again today (Oct. 10th) as a reminder. To date, no action has been taken so please leave this issue open. Again, I request a site plot that shows who is responsible for the wooded and right of way areas, as well as my property line.

  Location inspected, the maple tree has a few dead limbs. Not enough to warrant removal of the entire tree as of now. However I will put this inquiry as a recheck for the spring. If the health of the tree has declined further we will evaluate for removal.
