It needs something else NOT a shorter light. People going from Greystone Blvd. to Broad River Road to the left are in too much of a hurry and crash rear ending potentional BP customers making that quick right into it. This is a dangerous intersection not because of the BP station alone trying to get in there besides quickly being almost or rear ended, we've had to deal with that Broad River Road bridge taking 4 years to be fixed which is ridiculous causing deaths at the bridge down the hill with signs way up on Broad River Road that says one lane ahead that has changed from 4 to 2 lanes next to each other going down that hill onto the bridge next to one another. Drivers previously passing over that bridge daily for work or once living in this area feared the old bridge. Now they fear it even more when 2 cars rear ended and pushed a vehicle over it going straight down the rocks and crashing into the water! A flood almost took out the bridge 2 early springtimes ago after a heavy rain as the workers were just finishing one side after 2 years; they had a crane on some small rubber barge that was causing it to lean towards that finished end! Had that crane fallen into it and the river, all the work traffic that's there would NOT had any bridge at all!!! It would have gone down Broad River and the Historic Columbia Canal hitting the I-126 bridge and into the Saluda and Congaree. The damage would have been massive! If cars were on that at the time (usually are), how many people would have died or been badly injured?! What a cost that would have been for this one "Stimulus Money" Bridge with all this time wasted to work on it...way TOO long! Our end of Riverfront Park with Diversion Dam has been ruined and closed off and even the park had been closed down! We have a very expensive special fish channel built there where park rangers give a tour at the dam in the spring and summer weekends explaining the importance it plays in special fish life going down the Broad and Saluda and Congaree into bays further down or down other waters to the ocean where they swim back to our area. Please don't shorten that red light but get that bridge down and something accomplished with the BP gas station and convenience store. Just don't have them close it down or move it away from the subdivisions, condos, townhouses, many nice apartment complexes, a church, and a private school.
