Description
WCPD needs to patrol Hook Ave. The speed limit is 35! Cars and especially 18-wheelers FLY down this road. The houses are close together and driveways are hidden. Now we have a new housing development going up that will bring A LOT more traffic. Please look into this!

Maybe it's time to call and report this to WIS-TV and other tv stations that come on around 4 or 5 p.m. that handles these types of consumer complaints to get action.
But I would not want to have bumps as Park Street has off Elmwood Blvd.. It is horrible to even drive slowly over them. When I go down that street, I stop almost completely before going over the bump and let both of my newer Hyunda Elantra GLS cars coast over. I don't care who's behind me because I don't rush or hurry to go anywhere even having my cruise control on downtown!; if any truckdriver or large car or SUV runs into me, they will be charged with driving too fast for conditions when they hit me! Unfortunately, myself or someone else in a car, will end up injured, no work, no pay, and time recuperating or in the hospital.
The traffic, also, at Park Street is NOT a main road as Hook Avenue has always been. It would be a traffic nightmare of constant cars (not trucks that would still fly over street bumps and tear them up quickly) going slower as you'd want to see, but it would be going at a snail's pace.
I'd go for stop signs.
But even your idea of street bumps would NOT stop the traffic from using Hook Ave. They would continue to utilize it...especially the trucks that have deliveries from both ends of that street taking them to Rte. 378. That's the only major street we've all used over there; otherwise 9 out of 10 times I take the interstate as long as long as it's not at a busy time of day.
I rarely utilize Leaphart Road from the Shell Gas Station and Kimbrel's Furniture. If I have to go downtown or come from there, I take Jarvis Klapman Blvd.
