Thank you for your tip regarding individuals living in Rio Vista Park. The Mayor has asked me to respond directly to you regarding these subjects setting up camp between the two foot bridges off 80th Avenue Northeast and Riverside Drive. This complaint was initially given to the Day Shift supervisor, and Sergeant Nolin checked the area several times for individuals with no results. There was indication that someone had been there due to the amount of trash left around the area. The information was then transferred to Evening Shift, Sergeant Lefkimiotis, who has his officers monitoring the areas for activity. They will continue to monitor the park and take the appropriate enforcement actions as necessary.
If you need further assistance, Please feel free to contact Sergeant Spyridon Lefkimiotis at (727) 892-5934, or call the non-emergency number, (727) 893-7780, when you see individuals there so the issue can be dealt with immediately as it is occurring. Thank you for bringing this information to our attention.
Sincerely,
Luke C. Williams, Assistant Chief of Police
