Description
Traveling southbound on 98st, the left turn advance arrow to turn onto 99ave does not always activate. Sometimes both sides will just go straight to green allowing only 1 (or 2-3 illegal turners) through at the end of the light cycle.
I notice it the most during rush hour around 5:10pm. This backs traffic up very bad on 98st during rush hour. Can you take a look at the sequencing/sensor pads?
In my opinion, it would be beneficial to have the advance arrow on every sequence, not vehicle triggered. Also it should stay on just a little bit longer; currently only 2 or 3 vehicles get through per light.
I know this will affect the sequencing all around that intersection, and may cause other problems, but during rush hour it would help traffic flow considerably.
Thanks!

Thank you for your comment. The intersection operates by detection for the southbound left turn movements. If the motorist at the front does not stop within the detection zone (i.e. before the stop bar) then the advance left turn will not be activated which will impact the remaining vehicles in the queue.
Your concern during the afternoon peak hour rush hour period has been acknowledged and it will be reviewed.
