To dre@oaklandca.gov,
City of Oakland - Department of Race and Equity -- October 2016.
2.29.170.2 B.2.Community and public safety that includes services such as fire, police, emergency medical services and code enforcement that are responsive to all residents so that everyone feels safe to live, work and play in any neighborhood in Oakland.
This disproportionate burden of environmental degradation upon the residents is ZIP CODE DISCRIMINATION.
Why is your department allowing this after 6½ years since the City of Oakland launched the Department of Race and Equity?
We want everyone to feel safe to live, work and play in any neighborhood in Oakland.

October 2020
Oakland City Council unanimously voted to approve the Encampment Management Policy, meant to “protect and serve all Oaklanders, sheltered and unsheltered, and to manage the adverse impacts of homeless camps by balancing the interests of all residents (i.e. unhoused, housed, business community).”
In fact, this policy was intended to reinforce laws that are already in existence in Oakland, but that are not being enforced by the city.
