Description

Staff at Children's Hospital have reported people running the red light directly in front of the hospital. It is thought that they are so focused on the light at 52nd and Martin Luther King Jr Way that they are not aware of the light at 747 52nd Street for pedestrians and traffic into the hospital. (Drivers have been witnessed doing this in both directions.)

Please consider: (1) repainting the crosswalk; (2) adding additional pavement striping in the middle "KEEP CLEAR" box; (3) adding pre-striping before the crosswalk; (4) any other other forms of visual management traffic engineers have at their disposal. We would also be supportive of additional traffic tickets being issued in this location for a period of time to discourage red light runners.
