Not sure if their homeless, sleeping or dead. Called the fire dept and said to wake them or call to them. Its not my job and I am on the way to work. Let them deal with them if their crazy and have a knife. Fire dept told me to call 911 but that would be a waste of resources if their alive. If their dead it would be a waste of resources.
It would be a waste my my resources because calling 911 is a charge on my bill
White blanket with strips. Red back pack.
Dead or sleeping?

I wake folks in my neighborhood on a regular basis. I live near Van Ness and market streets it is like a open mental institution in that area. It is very sad that we have chosen to allow people to live like this. I stepped out of my comfort zone a long time ago as far as waking people up in this neighborhood. It has been my experience that 911 either doesn't come for a great amount of time or when they do come they just shake the person make him stand up and they get back in there ambulance and leave. It's happened several times to me.
However whlle it not my job to wake people up I do feel like it's my responsibility as a citizen in SF to make sure people are safe. Taking a little time out of your day really isn't such a big deal to me. However I do agree that the services suck in the city nobody within the administration takes any responsibility for these things it is always "call someone else."
Another thing I have called 911 several times and I have never been charged for it. I don't think that that's correct or if it is certainly has never been my experience. I now call 911 when I have any doubt or the nonemergency police line. Good luck, "ain't it a beautiful city."
