Description

The area near my residence has demonstrated incorrect drainage for sometime now and this has been worsened by recent utility service in the drainage ditch. In simplest terms there are two main issues. Issue #1 - the workers who executed the recent utility work didn't properly restore the ditch drainage and water now goes into the property frontage rather than down the storm drain. Issue #2 - the storm drainage appears to be inadequate, as it sits at an elevation above the drainage plane. In other words, the drop inlet is above the yard and doesn't work because it is a gravity drain system.

These two issues are causing long term and short term problems with both mine and the neighboring properties. It has accelerated settlement issues and our yards are nearly always saturated with moisture. My opinion is that a small pump station should be considered along with a possible drop inlet addition.

I've attached a map of the area with several notes and callouts. The referenced photos could not be uploaded due to system restrictions to a single file, but I'll be more than happy to make them available if you contact me. Feel free to call or email me at edupilka@gmail.com or 757-971-0383
