Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The expansion joints are functioning as intended. The sealant part of the joint is deteriorated, but it does not affect the structural integrity of the bridge. I did personally visit the bridge to make sure nothing else was occurring with the bridge.
To put this on your radar, the bridge is currently being designed for a deck replacement project with Construction planned to start in Fiscal Year 2025 (before September 2025). The City's Engineering Department is currently designing it now. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you want to discuss further.
