The revenue from the tickets alone might cover the Deputy's salary and benefits for the year, there are lots of speeders on that stretch. People still appear mindful of where the deputy used to sit behind the golf course utility sheds, but north of there they really open it up and get to speeds in the high 50's and 60's and beyond, and some of the pizza delivery guys go even faster on the weekend evenings!

I live along this stretch, just south of the "Y" in the road at Traver Road. The trouble with the southbound traffic is if they are coming from the northern reaches of Northern Pines, the speed limit is higher up there. They don't slow down once they get south of the "Y." Then they tailgate and wonder why people aren't going faster on the southern part.

Not only the above. We walk Nothern Pines from McGregor Links to Route 9 almost daily. The number of people speeding in the 55 plus range is unacceptable! Eventually this will result in more serious accidents. , There already has been fatalities at the intersection of Carr Rd and Northern Pines. People are coming so fast the victims do not have time to react. It seems like there is a contest to see how fast they can make the curve at Carr Rd. Texting and cell phones is also rampant! Law Enforcement must be aware of the situation. What's up!!! Money! ? This should be self funding

The problem isn't that the cops don't know about it. Having spoken with several of the local troopers and deputies, the issue is that they have to cover several towns at once. With Wilton cutting the deputy assigned to the town from the budget, you only get a cop available to run radar if there isnt anything going on in the whole area.

Having walked this route for 13 years I probably have observed traffic control 6 times or less. With or without budget problems!

a strech of northern pines is 55MPH as the speed limit i belive it is the strech of road you are talking about.

The strecth between he Travers Road intersetion (a Y intersection) and the curve just before McGregor Links Golf Course is 40 MPH and that is where people routinely exceed the limit and even pass turning vehicles in the oncoming lane.

its only 55mph from ballard to gailor...not by mcgegor.

Northern Pines should be 40 MPH from Ballard ALL the way from MacGregor Links to Northern Pines. There have been numerous accidents where people completely ignore or miss the stop sign there, and I attribute it to speed and inadequate warning. There should be a flashing red or some kind of warning light there, especially since they are lessening patrols.
