Update: Apparently another neighbor from the 600 block reported this encampment on the 500 block and apparently, police hauled a lot of stuff out yesterday. I am grateful for that since I had been seeing this encampment for weeks from the sidewalk.
What I don't understand is that city employees who mow these greenbelts. They HAD to see this encampment and must be aware of all the other encampments that we get along the boulevard. Why do they not report it? Why does it have to be a citizen that blows the whistle? These encampments happen on a regular basis on the 500 ad 600 block of 14th Ave. I encourage Rec and Park management to encourage staff to be diligent about reporting these to the proper authorities so citizens don't have to handle it. Personally, I think it is their responsibility to do so.
