I agree. Folks fly through this intersection at all times a day. Not only for the safety of the children who walk to school, but for all pedestrians who enjoy walking along this route, a four way stop would help.

Also, traffic travels at high speeds along that section of N King Charles Rd, presenting another safety issue for kids and other pedestrians.

I witnessed a driver of a blue wagon traveling on King Charles ignore the crossing guard in this intersection. He made a left turn onto Marlborough, forcing the students crossing to stop in the middle of the intersection while he plowed ahead. I honked my horn, the crossing guard yelled & the children waved their arms but he scowled at us all as he drove away. I'm assuming he felt he did not have to stop because there was no sign? What's really sad is that he lives in the neighborhood…

I agree with the others. This is a very inexpensive fix to help prevent a tragedy from occuring at this intersection.

Please make intersection of King Charles and Marlborough safe for all by changing it to a 4 way stop.

A 4-way stop would be helpful at all times of the day, because vehicles on N. King Charles northbound sometimes travel really fast while going downhill. I agree that it would be especially helpful during dismissal, since there seems to be at least one near-miss every year... and an accident would be tragic, since it could be easily preventable.

We will put the Marlborough Rd/King Charles St intersection in the queue for a multi-way stop evaluation. Once the evaluation is finished we will let you know what the results are. This might take a few weeks.

Please make the intersecton at Marlborough and King Charles Roads a 4 way stop.

We finished the intersection study and it didn’t meet the warrants for an all-way stop but because there were quite a few pedestrians in the morning we are now looking to see if the intersection will qualify for a crossing guard. We should have those results shortly.

Am I reading the city's response correctly? In response to a ticket that has a picture of an intersection that has a crossing guard in it, the city will now "look to see if the intersection qualifies for a crossing guard?"

We just received the results of the school crossing guard survey. The intersection does not qualify for a school crossing guard either. Just for clarification, this would be a uniformed officer directing traffic in peak times. The picture indicates a volunteer perhaps organized through the School District.
