This is a heavily traveled intersection. Phillips and Old Griffin. Most traffic is turning right from Phillips onto old griffin. Some traffic is turning left from Phillip’s onto old griffin. Limited traffic is coming south along old griffin and passing the intersection. The intersection is too small. It is too hard to turn left off of Phillips due to the non-stop flow of traffic traveling north on old griffin and turning left onto Phillips. A Major issue that I'm seeing is that traffic coming south along old griffin and passing Phillips will floor it up to about 50 right before the intersection and blow through the intersection at 45-50 mph. It is a 25 mph! We truly need a stop sign at all 3 approaches. That would solve some issues I think. In addition, the turning corners of the road would need to be bigger to allow more swing. The curves are too small and deep. would be easy to just make larger corners or curves to allow proper turning movements. If a bus or truck turns through here, they have to wait until someone notices that they are there and stops way back in order to turn. A possible solution could also be to have only old griffin southbound stop or add a speed bump next to the power pole in between the gas station entrance on old griff and the intersection of phillips. Another speed bump alternative area could be right before the gas station entrance on old griff just past funeral place driveway, which just keeps getting wider. they should really just have a normal driveway and make a real parking lot instead of all that messy gravel and dirt. They seem to be all violators coming from that way. Maybe having a hidden cop who writes 20 speeding tickets for traffic coming south along old griffin that "floor it to get through the intersection and trying to hit people to prove a point" would help. IDK. We need something better than what we have is all I know, and I’ll gladly pay more taxes for it.
